Michael Luangrath

My living letter is one of change and determination. Raised a Buddhist on the west coast, I quickly embraced atheism when I graduated from high school and was finally out on my own. However, I soon found myself searching for some sense of morality and started attending a Christian church. This sufficed for awhile, but when my mother was diagnosed with cervical cancer, I couldn’t help but feel there was more to life than just being a moral person.

As my mom struggled to live, I struggled with my faith, finally committing my life fully to Christ and finding abundant life. My mother was miraculously healed after nine months of daily battle and I knew God was doing great things. It was then I felt the call to ministry and to CBC.

I packed my bags, boarded a plane, and headed to Springfield. This transition was really hard and I was now in a place I never thought I would be in. But, God is seeing me through and I am feeling a deeper connection to him every day. I can’t wait to go back to California and put into use what I have learned here at CBC. God is going to use me there to build his kingdom, and I know CBC has prepared me to answer his call on my life.

I am a living letter of what God has done and will continue to do.

Answering the call,
Mike
